VOCABULARY street art, cafés, fortress, sunset.
MY TRAVEL EXPERIENCE
Last summer I set off early, checked in at a small hostel, and headed out to look around Getsemaní. I came across amazing murals and hung out with local artists in a tiny café. I used to think beach cities were only for swimming, but Cartagena changed my mind when I visited San Felipe Fortress and watched the sunset from the walls.
WHERE TO GO (Places to visit) – Getsemaní murals, Castillo San Felipe, Las Bóvedas.
WHERE TO GO – Place 1: Getsemaní Murals
You must walk along Calle de la Sierpe and check out the street art. You could stop by Plaza de la Trinidad to try out local snacks. You must not touch fresh paint on new murals.

You should go up to the top to look over the city and the sea. You have to bring water and a hat. If you set off before 8 a.m., you will avoid the heat.

You must use sunscreen and have to drink water; if you walk at noon, you will get very hot. You should use official taxis or apps and must not accept rides from unknown drivers. You don’t have to carry a lot of cash—cards work in many places—but you should keep small bills for markets. You should set out early for the fortress and beaches; if you keep an eye on your phone and bag, you will reduce risks.
